Slim Chance - The Show Goes On Songs Of Ronnie Lane

Slim Chance - The Show Goes On Songs Of Ronnie Lane - 2013

CHARLIE HART - que trabalhou com Pete Brown, Ian Dury, Eric Clapton (participou dos álbuns One for the Road, Rough Mix, See Me e Rocket 69).

ALUN DAVIES - parceiro de longa data de Cat Stevens, além de Ralph McTell, Good Men in the Jungle (gravou o álbum See Me)

STEVE BINGHAM - tem gravações com Geno Washington, the Foundations, Colin Blunstone (trabalhou no álbum Anymore for Anymore)

Arnold, Chris Farlowe, Ben E King, Charles Tolliver (assim como Steve Simpson, trabalhou no disco One for the Road)

01. Kushty Rye
02. Flags And Banners
03. Don't You Cry For Me
04. One For The Road

06. Anymore For Anymore
07. Rat's Tails (Catmelody)

Bakerandband - From Humble Oranges

Bakerandband - From Humble Oranges - 1982

O disco traz um mix de rock/pop e blues (vale a pena conferir Sore Head In The Morning Blues).

01. The Eleventh Hour
02 .Too Many Apples
03. It
04. Under The Sun
05. On The Road To Grandma's House
06. The Land Of Mordor
07. This Planet
08. Sore Head In The Morning Blues
09. Wasting Time
10. Lament

Ginger Baker - Drums, Percussion, Keyboards, Vocals
Doug Brockie -  Guitar, Lead Vocals
Karl Hill - Bass Guitar, Vocals
+
Chris Gent - Tenor Saxophone

Rachel Fuller - Presents In The Attic with Pete Townshend and Friends

Rachel Fuller - Presents In The Attic with Pete Townshend and Friends - 2009

By Will Hermes from RollingStones.com
This double CD-DVD is culled from some homey 2007 showcases conceived by singer-songwriter Rachel Fuller, Pete Townshend's longtime partner. It's a mixed bag. Ben Harper and Amos Lee are predictably fine; a singing Jimmy Fallon, not so much. Naturally, Townshend is the main attraction: The Lou Reed duets are scrappy and essential. And when Tenacious D play an awesomely ridiculous Tommy medley for the Who composer, you can hear Jack Black loving his life mighty hard.

CD 01

01. Tommy Medley - Tenacious D
02. Let My Love Open the Door - Joe Purdy
03. Daisy - Joe Purdy
04. Sir Walter Raleigh - Rachel Fuller
05. I Can Fly - Rachel Fuller
06. Orange Sky - Alexi Murdoch
07. Dream About Flying - Alexi Murdoch
08. Please Bleed - Ben Harper
09. Diamonds on the Inside - Ben Harper
10. The Real Me - Pete Townshend
11. Drowned - Pete Townshend

CD 02

01. What's Been Going On - Amos Lee
02. Freedom - Amos Lee
03. Be Be Your Love - Rachael Yamagata
04. Paper Doll - Rachael Yamagata
05. Carwash for Peace - Jimmy Fallon
06. President's Day - Jimmy Fallon
07. Jigsaw - Rachel Fuller
08. Cigarettes and Housework - Rachel Fuller
09. Acid Queen - Pete Townshend
10. Won't Get Fooled Again - Pete Townshend
11. White Light/White Heat - Lou Reed

Top Topham -The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions

Top Topham -The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions - 2008

Anthony "Top" Topham  had the good fortune to be a founding member of the Yardbirds, one of the most respected rock acts to come out of mid-'60s England. He had the bad fortune, however, to have been born in 1947, and to be only 15 years old at the time of the group's formation.

Topham was a student at Epsom Art School when he and a good friend, singer/harpist Keith Relf, recruited drummer Jim McCarty, and from there assembled what was first called the Metropolitan Blues Quartet. They soon expanded their lineup and changed their name to the Yardbirds, and they seemed to have a promising enough future, especially after they attracted the interest of Giorgio Gomelsky, a club owner who became their manager. In a way, their future looked too promising, for the tastes of Topham's parents -- the other band members, encouraged by Gomelsky, wanted to turn professional, and Topham didn't have that option; his parents had always expressed misgivings about his involvement in music, and wouldn't consider letting their 15-year-old son leave school to pursue a career as a guitarist.

Mountain - Official Live Mountain Bootleg Series - Volume 16

Mountain - Official Live Mountain Bootleg Series - Volume 16 - 2006

The performances contained on the Mountain Bootleg Series are drawn from various stages of the bands career from the very early years when the band first formed through to recent gigs undertaken by the band. All the performances come from the personal archives of both Leslie West and Corky Laing and whilst some of the performances are not sonically perfect the quality of the performances are never in question and as Corky Laing says “Some of the performances are real interesting”. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

This is the latest release in the ongoing Mountain Official Bootleg Series and was recorded in Arizona in 1982. At this time in the bands history the band were re establishing themselves o the American touring circuit and the set list is geared to reminding the audience what a potent live force the band were. The set list contains the Mountain classics Nantucket Sleighride, Mississippi Queen and also a cover of the Rolling Stones song Honky Tonk Women which Leslie West had covered for his Great Fatsby album in the 1970’s whilst the band was between record deals. The performance does however contain the Mountain classics including Nantucket Sleighride and Mississippi Queen.

01. Tune Up / Never In My Life / Goin' Down
02. Theme For An Imaginary Western
03. Jam Intro / Third Degree
04. Nantucket Sleighride / Hall of the Mountain King
05. Mississippi Queen
06. Honky Tonk Women
07. Apolitical Blues.

British Invasion All-Stars - British Invasion All-Stars (Re-Re-Post)

British Invasion All-Stars - British Invasion All-Stars - 2002

by Alex Henderson from AMG
The British Invasion All-Stars are a 21st century band with a '60s sound, which isn't surprising because all of its members are veteran rockers who belonged to various '60s bands (some more prominent than others). In rock circles, the term British Invasion is used to describe the wave of British rock bands that made its presence felt in the '60s. Rock was born in the United States, but when the Beatles and many other British acts hit big in the '60s, it was clear that England had become a major player in the rock & roll field.

Formed in 2001, the British Invasion All-Stars boasts former-Yardbird Jim McCarty on drums and lead vocals, ex-Procol Harum member Matthew Fisher on electric Hammond organ, and Eddie Phillips (formerly of the Creation) on lead guitar. The three other members are Ray Phillips, of the Nashville Teens fame, on lead vocals, and two ex-members of the Downliners Sect: rhythm guitarist Don Craine and bassist Keith Grand (who contributes background vocals and shares the lead vocals with Phillips and McCarty). The British Invasion All-Stars' self-titled debut album, which was released on the independent Mooreland Street label in 2002, shows no awareness of the alternative rock sounds of the early 2000s; the band is totally unaffected by any of the punk, new wave, post-punk, pop-metal, or alternative rock that came after the '60s. From covers of well-known songs by the Yardbirds ("Shapes of Things") and the Who ("Shakin' All Over"), to new material, everything on the British Invasion All-Stars' first album is unapologetically '60s-minded. The CD boasts several guest musicians who have strong '60s credentials, including bassist Noel Redding (who was one-third of the Jimi Hendrix Experience) and two ex-members of the Pretty Things: Dick Taylor and Phil May.

This self-titled debut album by the British Invasion All-Stars was released in 2002, but if you didn't know better, you might assume that it was recorded in the mid- to late '60s. That's because their music is a celebration of '60s British Invasion rock, and all of them know a lot about that subject - they were members of bands like the Yardbirds, Procol Harum, and the Nashville Teens. All of the material sounds dated, and that is true of new songs (including the moody "Heavy Weather") as well as covers of '60s hits like the Yardbirds' "Shapes of Things," the Who's "Shakin' All Over," and Booker T. & the M.G.'s "Green Onions" (which ends up with a British blues-rock outlook rather than a Stax/Volt outlook). Even the production sounds dated; if producer/arranger Mike Ober wanted to make this CD as '60s-sounding as possible, he accomplished his goal. But dated isn't necessarily a bad thing if you are a die-hard fan of a particular era; in fact, it can actually be a plus. And for fans of '60s British Invasion rock, this release is dated in a good sense - dated as in being an enjoyable celebration of an era that gave fans great bands like the Beatles, the Yardbirds, the Zombies, the Who, and the Kinks. The British Invasion All-Stars' performances fall short of mind-blowing; none of their covers are superior to the original versions. But the album is generally decent, and it is worth hearing if you are a serious admirer of '60s rock.
