Ian Hunter - From the Knees of My Heart (The Crysalis Years 1979-1984) (RE-POST)

Ian Hunter - From the Knees of My Heart (The Crysalis Years 1979-1984) - 2012

from AMG
Ian Hunter's short time at Chrysalis marked one of his great periods so it's little wonder that it's been heavily anthologized over the years. Nevertheless, the 2012 four-disc box From the Knees of My Heart: The Chrysalis Years (1979-1981) is one of the best of the bunch, capturing his three albums for the label -- 1979's You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic, 1980's live set Welcome to the Club, the very new wave 1981 platter Short Back N Sides -- and adding a bunch of rarities, including a live disc that was included as a bonus on an expanded double-disc reissue of You're Never Alone in 2009. Welcome to the Club and Short Back N Sides have also seen expanded reissues over the years and most, but not all, of the bonus cuts are here, along with a few other songs that haven't showed up elsewhere, plus a live set at Pepsi Fest on the fourth disc that hasn't shown up on disc, but has been on home video before. Some of these details are little more than list-keeping for trainspotters because the essential fact is this: the three years Ian Hunter spent at Chrysalis are among his strongest, with him producing two excellent LPs (You're Never Alone with a Schizophrenic may be his greatest solo album) and fronting a hell of a band, heard here in their full glory twice. This is the easiest, best way to get all of the major recordings from this brilliant era at once.

Steely Dan - Going Mobile

Steely Dan - Going Mobile - 2013

A band whose most revered recordings were made during a period of hiatus from live performance, it’s easy to forget that Steely Dan’s early years saw them flourish as a fully functional touring act. Here we have a live FM-radio broadcast recording of a typical Dan set from their last tour of the era, in support of the Pretzel Logic LP. As a summation of band’s early years, the setlist is flawless. Highlights include an extended jazz-rock workout on the thenunreleased Your Gold Teeth II and, most enticingly for fans, the still unreleased This All Too Mobile Home, a lost classic that would have fitted perfectly on Pretzel Logic.

02. Bodhisattva
03. The Boston Rag

Nick Simper & Nasty Habits - Live At Szene, Vienna

Nick Simper & Nasty Habits - Live At Szene, Vienna - 2012

On 8th March 2011 playing to a sold out audience at Vienna’s legendary Rock Club “Szene” NICK SIMPER (founder member DEEP PURPLE) performed with NASTY HABITS (Austria’s finest Classic Rock band) original tracks from Nick’s period in Deep Purple (Mk 1). With Deep Purple today only having just one original member from their MK 1 days it is highly unlikely that the band will perform these now neglected classic songs in concert.

John "Speedy" Keen - Previous Conviction (re-re-re-post)

John "Speedy" Keen - Previous Conviction - 1973

John Keen was young Pete Townshend’s flat mate and chauffeur, but he was a musician and songwriter in his own right; in fact, Keen wrote “Armenia City in the Sky” from The Who Sell Out.  In 1969 Pete and manager Kit Lambert paired Speedy up with Andy Newman and Jimmy McCulloch in the ready-made band Thunderclap Newman, which was intended as a showcase for the three musicians.

They recorded an album at Pete’s legendary home studio, and the Keen-penned single “Something in the Air” went on to hit number one in nine different countries.  Not too shabby.

After Thunderclap Newman, Keen recorded two solo albums (this was his first) and then went to work in the studio both as a studio musician and producer.

Ian McLagan - Here Comes Trouble (re-re-re-post)

Ian McLagan - Here Comes Trouble - 2005

Ian McLagan's first solo album 'Troublemaker' got critical raves and even made the charts when it was released in 1979. This collection has been re-mastered with seven extra tracks, none of which have ever been heard before on CD.

Apart from Ian McLagan: vocals, piano & Hammond B3, the band was Johnny Lee Schell: guitars and vocals, Jim Keltner: drums, and Paul Stallworth: bass.

The album is full of great songs and performances, and features the only released recording of the New Barbarians on 'Truly', a reggae favorite. Ronnie Wood & Keith Richards on guitars, Stanley Clarke on bass, Bobby Keys on Sax, and Zigaboo Modeliste on drums. And in a separate session Ringo Starr played drums on 'Hold On'. There are also four tracks from McLagan's album, 'Last Chance To Dance', 'Pictures Of Lily' from a Who Tribute disc, a reworking of 'Last Chance To Dance' with Mac's Texas Bump Band, and the complete 12 minute original take of 'Truly' with Keith and Mac's backing vocals

Sal Valentino - Dreamin' Man - REPOST

Sal Valentino - Dreamin' Man - 2011

from Twirl Radio
Sal’s early fame came as vocalist for the 1960′s band The Beau Brummels with such top hits as “Laugh Laugh” and “Just A Little”. It’s been argued that the band defined the San Francisco sound. Certainly, they were out ahead of the pack–a little before the Jefferson Airplane and Grateful Dead.

The 1970′s came, and Sal played in Stoneground, a great amalgam of funk and country rock, perhaps a precursor to the Doobie Brothers. And he’s had quite a respectable solo career. As one of my European listeners said, “Sal Valentino–one of the great voices of all time!”.

His most recent album, Dreamin’ Man, teams him up with long time collaborator John Blakeley. This is one fine album. It starts with the breezy opener “Love Song”, then transitions into determined mid-tempo rocker “Hwy 49″. Sal and John turn in a great Americana performance on rising Sacramento star Jackie Greene’s “Valley of Woe”. While Sal sings with conviction, John’s stellar acoustic picking drives this song forward with abandon. These two bad dudes will kick your rear with this song, and you’ll love it.

But make no mistake–this tends to be a rather romantic album, especially the second half. “Looking For You” is a fun rave up, and Sal is completely devoted to getting through to his woman, no matter what it takes, a la the Fabulous Thunderbirds in “Tuff Enuff”. The last four songs burrow deep into your heart, with their romanticism. “Dreamin’ Man”, the title track, is quite moody and haunting, but always listenable. “Catherine I Do” and “Lovin’ Fallin’” feature classy instrumental hooks and lyrics that grab you, work their way through your mind, and into that place in your soul reserved for love and sentiment. These melodies are sublime and exquisite. The album ends with the confessional “That Way”–what Sal is confessing is eternal love and devotion for his woman.

David Tronzo & Reeves Gabrels - Night in Amnesia

David Tronzo & Reeves Gabrels - Night in Amnesia - 1995

Between slide guru David Tronzo and ex-Tin Machine-ist Reeves Gabrels, a strange, juicy chemistry takes place here on Night In Amnesia. Experimentalists who also know how to party, they flit between instruments and genres, now with a tilting boogie, then veering toward abstraction.

All the music on this albums was composed spontaneously as it was being recorded. This was the first meeting between Reeves and Tronzo.

Ron Flynt And The Bluehearts - L.A. Story

Ron Flynt And The Bluehearts - L.A. Story - 2004

from AMG
Ron Flynt's second solo album is a concept work of sorts based around the story of his former band, 20/20, though the concept wouldn't be too obvious if you weren't alerted beforehand (or weren't familiar with 20/20). In fact, with his respectably tuneful, mature power pop style, Flynt here sounds more like a minor Elvis Costello than a Pete Townshend wrestling with his band's history à la Quadrophenia. Whether or not you pay attention to the nominal framework, the songs explore territory common to many such power pop bands with roots in both '60s rock and new wave: falling for and getting out of the clutches of seductive, dangerous women; chasing dreams; the superficiality of showbiz glitz; traveling a road to nowhere; and the redemptive power of love. However, there's a touch of resignation here, and acknowledgement that things don't always turn out as planned, that isn't found in the more ebullient work of younger power pop bands -- like, say, 20/20 at the outset of their career. Musically, there's nothing here that hasn't been done before by the likes of 20/20 and other such groups. But it's an accomplished statement in that style, and die-hard fans may appreciate the slight lyrical spin on the form.

VA - Who Are You – An All Star Tribute to the Who

VA - Who Are You – An All Star Tribute to the Who - 2012

from AM|G

Who Are You: An All-Star Tribute to the Who collects mostly faithful covers by a wide range of rockers, spanning various highlights of the Who's legacy, hitting on classics from their early mod days as well as later arena rock staples. The monolithic nature of the Who's catalog makes the task of delivering an acceptable cover a little tricky. If you're going to do it by the numbers (no reference intended), it's gotta be stellar or it will pale in comparison to the original. Joe Lynn Turner and Leslie West's screaming rendition of "The Seeker" staggers around with all the verve and bile of the original, while even a slightly less energetic reading of "Baba O'Riley" by Jerry Goldman with Nektar falls flat, coming off deflated and milquetoast. Iggy Pop's clumsy version of "I Can't Explain" flops similarly, sounding just a touch too phoned-in for its own good. An explosive version of "My Generation" by the Kinks' Dave Davies with members of the Vibrators and the Damned makes up for the missteps of the rest of the comp, with blown-out guitar tones and crashing drums sounding almost as youthfully tense and electric as the original. The Raveonettes also offer a highlight with a dreamy reverb-pop rendition of "The Kids Are Alright." Though a spotty affair, the strengths of Who Are You redeem the more hackneyed moments.

01. Eminence Front
02. Baba O'Riley

Chis Laterzo - West Coast Sound

Chis Laterzo - West Coast Sound - 2015

from hyperbolium.com
There’s always been a note of Neil Young’s high, keening tone in Chris Laterzo’s voice, but on his fifth album, backed by twanging alt-country, the notes are more plentiful and apparent. That’s not a criticism, it’s a compliment, as Laterzo doesn’t copy Young so much as sing original songs in a style that echoes Young’s work from the ‘60s and ‘70s. You can also hear flavors of Shannon Hoon in his high notes and Chris Robinson in his tremelo, and the loping rhythms of Laterzo’s American “cowboy rock” also connect him to the cosmos of Gram Parsons. The album’s title track finds Laterzo surrendering not just to the natural elements of his adopted California, but also to the the country-tinged rock that once flowed freely from Laurel Canyon.

Laterzo sings lovingly of his former neighborhood, “Echo Park,” memorializing the people, places and lifestyle of an important point in his life. Dan Wistrom’s pedal steel is particularly potent on this track. Laterzo is settled in Los Angeles, but having grown up in Denver, Boston and Brussels, he harbors a wanderlust that’s satiated as a touring musician and as the rambler of “Tumbleweed.” The road beckons more darkly as an avenue of escape for “Someday Blue,” with a tempo and acoustic guitar that suggest the despair of the Rolling Stones’ “Angie.” Despair turns to resignation in “Drag,” as Laterzo concludes you can’t negotiate with a closed book, and resignation turns to spite in “Subaru,” despite the lyric’s claim to the contrary.

There’s a wistfulness to Laterzo’s singing that merges memories with realizations. The backward glances of “The Bradbury” and “Chaperone” aren’t nostalgia, they’re the slightly stoned, or in the case of “Chaperone,” fantastically dreamed, building blocks of experience. The latter is stripped down to acoustic guitar and snare drum, and played at a tempo that perfectly paces the sleepwalking vocal. Laterzo often sounds lost in thought, as if his thoughts are extemporaneous and still forming as they’re being related; it’s a powerful way to draw listeners into songs. The album is low-key, but Laterzo’s reflections are bright and engrossing, and will entice fans of Young, Jackson Browne, the Byrds and other canyon dwellers.

William Souffreau - Time

William Souffreau - Time - 2004

William was born on the 14th of April 1946, in Erembodegem, under a Belgian moon. He jumped into the music scene in the early sixties with the rock 'n' roll band The Blue Jets. At that time William wrote his first song, 'Feel so Lonely', which was later recorded on the album ‘Shake It’ (2002) by Blink It. Around 1963 William played with The Mings. His first recordings date from 1966, with The Four Rockets. Near the end of the 60s The Four Rockets became the more psychedelic rockband Dementia Praecox.

In 1970 William was elected number one rock singer of Belgium. Earlier that year he had founded the band The Voodoo, which soon became Irish Coffee. This rock band was a large success in many countries. Irish Coffee recorded one album and four singles (including the hit single 'Masterpiece'), all collector's items now. The band played many concerts and did numerous TV and radio shows. Irish Coffee was a support act for Uriah Heep, Chicken Shack and Golden Earring, among others. In 1974 the Irish Coffee story came to an end.

Joey Molland - Return to Memphis

Joey Molland - Return to Memphis - 2014

from therocktologist.com
Badfinger legend Joey Molland takes a trip to Royal Studios in Memphis and emerges showing of a handful of original numbers that cross moments of beauty with unexpected insipidness.

One great thing about this album is that it’s been put together with a feel for what makes a quality record, which means it’s not necessarily a collection of strong features, but also has a true flow. And yes as the title suggests, Molland’s musical roots are pretty much evidently planted. Never afraid to leap from the blue eyed soulfulness of “Walk Out in the Rain” to the toughened up roughness of “Still I Love You”, Molland delivers with panache and style. He lover the tone on “All I Ever Dreamed”, calls on the tears with “Hero” in and even indulges in some seriously inspiring guitar work here and there. That’s for the best moments. The trouble with Joey’s return is that for the most part the album is okay, and nothing more. Molland’s voice even sounds tired here and there, but then again similar material would no doubt squeeze the guts out of a singer 20 years younger too. On other hand, “Return to Memphis” isn’t short of hummable melodies, married with skilfully controlled energy and zip that tell of an album of colourful proportions which means no worries for Joey Molland.

Nik Turner - Space Fusion Odyssey

Nik Turner - Space Fusion Odyssey - 2015

Nicholas "Nik" Turner (born 26 August 1940, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England) is an English musician, best known as a former member of space rock pioneers Hawkwind. Turner plays saxophones, flute, sings and is a composer. While with Hawkwind, Turner was known for his experimental free jazz stylisations and outrageous stage presence, often donning full makeup and Ancient Egypt-inspired costumes.

Space Odyssey is a very cosmic concept that’s perfectly in tune with the Hawkwind modus operandi whose perfect dose of artful craziness is still being carried by Nik Turner. The reedsman’s latest "Space Gypsy" from 2013 was a great record which Nik is resolved to surpass now with the forthcoming – scheduled for a July release – “Space Fusion Odyssey.” Featuring a host of star guests, including the guitarists from THE DOORS and MEGADETH, this album, as Turner says, still doesn’t have a confirmed covert artwork and finalized tracklist, yet there’s a psychedelic video as a harbinger of things to come.

Dexys - Nowhere Is Home

Dexys - Nowhere Is Home (Live at Duke of York's Theatre) - 2014

Not only did 2012’s outsider opera of an album, One Day I’m Going To Soar, completely revive the reputation of Kevin Rowland and Dexys, it also provided the focus for one of the more ambitious series of concerts of recent times. The release of Nowhere Is Home sees that theatrical presentation given the cinematic treatment it deserves, while acting as a victory lap for this most stylish of comebacks.

Dexys are not a revival band. They are going forward not backward. They changed their name from Dexys Midnight Runners to Dexys in 2012 to say “we’re the same people, but we’re different now!” Dexys is not just Kevin Rowland. It is an eight-person ensemble with a nucleus consisting of Kevin Rowland, Lucy Morgan and Sean Read.

Ann Peebles - Brand New Classics

Ann Peebles - Brand New Classics - 2006

By Mike Atherton for Britains' Echoes Magazine

The return of two legendary names from the past: Track Records, the label which gave us Jimi Hendrix and The Who, not to mention fine Detroit soul sides by The Parliaments and Al Kent, and Ann Peebles, the diminutive dynamo of a diva who scored hit after hit on Memphis-based Hi Records in the Seventies.

At first glance this looks as if it could be one of those faded-star-does-her-hits-live sets, as Peebles faves like I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down, You Keep Me Hanging On and I Can't Stand The Rain feature amongst the 16 tracks. But, though much of it was recorded in front of a live studio audience, this is no cheap cash-in, and there's nothing the least bit faded about Miss Peebles - or Mrs. Bryant, as she has been for many years. Hubby Don, no mean recording artist himself, has a guest spot on the gospel tune Spread and shows that his voice is still fully intact, too.

Backed by her aptly-named Dream Team band, drums, acoustic and electric guitars and a juicy but controlled Hammond organ, Ann brings maturity and a sense of warm intimacy to those old songs, without losing an ounce of their soul content. She is adept at bringing out the shades and nuances of a lyric, as demonstrated on the bluesy Walk Away and the beautiful, anthemic and autobiographical I'm So Thankful. Amongst the newer numbers are her version of Foreigner's I Wanna Know What Love Is and the Stones' Miss You, two songs which fit seamlessly into her repertoire. On the latter she's backed by her old Memphis homeboys Hodges, Hodges and Grimes, veterans of innumerable Hi sessions.

Of course, I Can't Stand The Rain is here, sassier and funkier than we remember it, a pleasing contrast to the mellow vibes of most of the set. Ann Peebles may have been quiet for a while, but she still has the star quality which this writer witnessed when he saw her at the 100 Club nearly 30 years ago. That star shines from every track of this warm, uplifting and lovely album.

01. I'll Get Along
02. (You Keep Me) Hanging On
03. I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down
04. I Want To Know Love Is
05. Walk Away
06. Steal Away - I Still Love You
07. The Handwriting Is On The Wall
08. Love Vibration
09. I'm So Thankful
10. Feel Like Breaking Up Some

Stevie Wright - Hard Road

Stevie Wright - Hard Road - 1974

from Wikipedia
Stephen Carlton "Stevie" Wright (20 December 1947 – 27 December 2015), formerly billed as Little Stevie, was an Australian musician and songwriter who has been called Australia's first international pop star. During 1964–69 he was lead singer of Sydney-based rock and roll band the Easybeats, widely regarded as the greatest Australian pop band of the 1960s.

Early hits for the Easybeats were co-written by Wright with bandmate George Young, including, "She's So Fine" (No. 3, 1965), "Wedding Ring" (No. 7, 1965), "Women (Make You Feel Alright)" (No. 4, 1966), "Come and See Her" (No. 3, 1966), "I'll Make You Happy" (track on Easyfever EP, No. 1, 1966), and "Sorry" (No. 1, 1966). He was lead vocalist on their only international hit, "Friday on My Mind", which peaked at No. 1 in Australia in 1966. It also made No. 6 in the United Kingdom, the Top 10 in France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, No.13 in Canada, and the Top 20 in the United States in 1967.

After the Easybeats disbanded in 1969, Wright fronted numerous groups including Stevie Wright Band and Stevie Wright & the Allstars; his solo career included the 1974 single, "Evie (Parts 1, 2 & 3)", which peaked at No. 1 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart.

Wright's life was detailed in two biographies, Sorry: The Wretched Tale of Little Stevie Wright by Jack Marx (1999) and Hard Road: The Life and Times of Stevie Wright by Glenn Goldsmith (2004). On 14 July 2005, the Easybeats, with Wright as a member, were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.

Tim Christensen - Pure McCartney

Tim Christensen - Pure McCartney - 2013

from wikipedia

Pure McCartney is a live DVD/CD and DVD/2-LP album by singer-songwriters Tim Christensen, Mike Viola, and Tracy Bonham, with the band The Damn Crystals, released in 2013.

Pure McCartney contains a recording of a one-off tribute concert at Vega in Copenhagen in celebration of Sir Paul McCartney's 70th birthday that day.[1]

Bassist Søren Koch of Dizzy Mizz Lizzy once saw Viola play in New York, and thought that he had a strong musical match with Christensen, so he introduced them. Christensen and Viola found out that the 1971 McCartney album Ram is their mutual favorite album, so that it became the heart of the set list alongside several other post-Beatles songs.Vega's large concert hall, with a capacity of 1500, was sold out. The artwork was inspired by Ram.

Noel Gallagher was planned to become a surprised guest. Christensen and Gallagher appeared on Danish television, where they were competing in a small quiz about The Beatles. They got along well with each other backstage and also talked about the McCartney concert, but they never heard back from Gallagher's manager since

Spencer Davis & Band - 24 hours - Live in Germany (re-re-re-post)

Spencer Davis & Band - 24 hours - Live in Germany - 1988

from wikipedia
Spencer David Nelson Davis is a British musician and multi-instrumentalist, and the founder of the 1960s rock band, the Spencer Davis Group.

In 1963, Davis went to a Birmingham public house to see Muff Woody, a traditional jazz band featuring Muff and Steve Winwood. Steve, only fifteen at the time, was already gaining notice for his musical abilities. Muff, five years older than his brother, was an accomplished jazz musician. When Davis saw the brothers' musical versatility, he knew he had found his band. He soon persuaded them to join him and drummer Pete York as the Rhythm and Blues Quartet. Davis performed on guitar, vocals and harmonica, Steve Winwood on guitar, organ and vocals, Muff Winwood on bass, and Pete York on drums. Playing mainly R&B covers, the band performed first at the Golden Eagle pub on Hill Street, but within a year they had landed a regular gig at The Marquee, and by 1964 had adopted the name The Spencer Davis Group. The group had No 1 hits in the UK with consecutive single releases in 1966 (Keep on Running and Somebody Help Me). Steve Winwood sang lead vocals on all the Spencer Davis Group's hits up to "I'm A Man" in 1967.

The Spencer Davis Group continued after Winwood left, to form Traffic in April 1967, and split in 1969. Another version of the group with Davis and York appeared in 1973 and disbanded in late 1974. Various incarnations of the band have toured in recent years, under Davis' direction.

Stackridge - A Victory For Common Sense

Stackridge - A Victory For Common Sense - 2009
So you’ve never heard of Stackridge? Well if you’re not from the UK you are forgiven. The Anglophilic progressive pop band began to great fanfare in 1971, were predicted to be bigger than Genesis and even had an very well reviewed LP produced by George Martin right after his Beatles tenure ended (Man In A Bowler Hat). Then by 1975, they fell off the public’s radar. I never heard about them till recently, and after listening to the back catalog, it’s like the discovering a missing link between 10cc, Klaatu and Protocol Harem. Needless to say, if you like any of those bands, you can dig deep here. For those power pop fans who question the inclusion of a progressive band here just give a listen to “Dangerous Bacon,” and I guarantee you’ll be hooked. But, today these old codgers have a brand new album for you to hear. A Victory For Common Sense has most of the what fans expect. Well orchestrated rock and pop, starts off with “Boots and Shoes” a standard melodic rock tune that’s crafted with an ear towards contemporary audiences, that then bathes itself in anglo-slice-of-life nostalgia on “The Old Country.” A real gem here is “Red Squirrel” with it’s Badfinger-like guitar riffs and steady bass rhythm. The folk ballad “North St. Grand” slows the albums pacing a bit, but a few other tracks poke through some of the serious prog noodling, like the wonderful “Lost and Found” and the ethereal gem “Cheese and Ham.” It ends on a ponderous unwieldy jam with “The Day The World Stopped Turning.” While it doesn’t touch the glory of the early 70’s albums, it comes pretty darn close in spots. For most long time UK fans this more than enough to celebrate.

Dave Waggoner - Songs Unknown to Ears

Dave Waggoner - Songs Unknown to Ears - 1989

from minniepaulmusic.com

Dave Waggoner  began  his musical career in 1963 on bass guitar with The Aardvarks, then moved on to a new role as lead singer with  Jokers  Wild at the end of 1965.  In March, 1967, Dave joined The South 40, at the request of David Anthony, a local booking agent, who put the new band together.  The band released a live album, “Live at Someplace Else” on the local Metrobeat  label in 1968.  Also, in 1968, The South Forty traveled to Des Moines, Iowa to participate in a band contest that resulted in a name change to Crow and a recording contract with Amaret Records.  With Dave Waggoner’s distinctive vocals and the highly talented band members, Crow had three songs on the charts with Amaret in 1969 and 1970, starting with Evil Woman and followed up with Cottage Cheese and Don’t Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock’n’Roll.   During this time period, the band traveled the country (and Canada) and played numerous popular venues and concerts, sharing the bill with national recording stars including Janis Joplin, Iron Butterfly, Jefferson Starship, the Steve Miller Band and Eric Burdon and the Animals.

Dave left Crow at the end of 1971 and recorded a solo album for Amaret, Dave Wagner d/b/a Crow.  The album was recorded in Los Angeles using top local studio musicians.

In November, 1979, David Anthony asked Dave Wagner to put a new version of Crow together.  This version of Crow played locally and throughout the Midwest during 1980 through the end of 1981 and recorded an album in 1981. The album was not finished and the band had broken up, however, David Anthony convinced the band to finish the album in October, 1982.  The album, Crow “on the Run”, was released on the Peak label on vinyl, LP and cassette tape.  A 45 was also released, “Someone” backed with “All For the Love of Money”.  After this version of Crow, Dave continued on with Whiskey River for a few  years and Crosscut for awhile , followed by various versions of Crow.

In 1989, a CD was put together called  Dave Waggoner, “Songs Unkown to Ears”, a collection of studio songs written by Denny Johnson and recorded over a five year time period at Sunrise Sound Recording Studios, using top local musicians including Cynthia Johnson and friends, David Island , John Vezner,  John Sims Jr., Ira Ferguson,  John Richardson and Jeff Christensen.   In 2005, a new Crow album was released, “Before the Storm”.  Currently, a new version of Crow continues to play, marking 45 years in the music business for Dave Waggoner, a Minnesota rock’n’roll legend, now a resident of Arizona.  Now, for the first time ever, the CD, “Songs Unknown to Ears” (on Peak Records), is finally made available to the public.

William Souffreau & The Moonlovers - William Souffreau & The Moonlovers

William Souffreau & The Moonlovers  - William Souffreau & The Moonlovers  - 2008

William Souffreau is one of Belgium's great rock pioneers. He has been playing music for more than five decades now.

Two years later William established Joystick, with a funky horn section and great musicians such as Tony Boast. They were support act for Motörhead among others. They never made an album, but a few of the Joystick songs were recorded on the Irish Coffee reunion album (2004).

TribalJazz - TriballJazz - 2006

TribalJazz - TriballJazz - 2006

Tribaljazz is a world beat jazz engine, fuel injected with the percussion of power of several African Maser drummers. Tribaljazz brings a provocative and energetic new voice to the jazz and jamband world. Tribaljazz is an experience-it's a seductive groove, with driving rhythms, that draws a wide eclectic audience - from jazz aficionados and Classic rockers, to cutting edge jamband followers without age or cultural limits. Among this band's many unique features is the distinction of being led by one of the music industry's most respected and accomplished musicians John Densmore, the legendary drummer and former member of the world famous rock group The Doors. John and his talented Tribaljazz team have embarked on a course that takes music to new and wonderful places. Their deft combination of jazz genres and world rhythms is sure to open more than a few eyes, and minds.
